We’re All Sluts! a guide to stopping slut-shaming (with pictures!)

glassdream:

Hello! My name is Erika. I’m 19 years old, and I’m a slut.

And guess what?

You’re a slut, too!

In fact, all of the women you know are sluts!

Even your mama!

Okay, please put the gun down. I’ll explain.

The world today has put a pretty strict model in place for how women should behave. They should always be modest, classy, and ladylike.

Always, motherfucker.

This means absolutely no dressing provacatively.

No pre-marital sex.

No assertive behavior, especially in the dating scene.

That sort of thing.

But the problem is that even women who fit the rigid standards are doomed to fail!

If a woman so much as speaks to a man who is dating/married to someone else, she’s a slut.

If a woman hangs out with her guy friends, she’s a whore.

If a woman takes birth control pills for medical purposes, she’s a streetwalker.

If a woman does virtually anything that someone else doesn’t like, the immediate reaction is to call her a slut.

So yes, even your mama is a ho.

But it’s okay.

You see, it doesn’t matter who’s a slut and who’s a virgin. Not really.

Because a woman who has lots of casual sex and a woman who is waiting til marriage are both just women.

A woman who carries condoms in her purse and a woman who carries a list of emergency phone numbers are not so very different.

A woman who wears short skirts and a woman who wears business suits are both normal human beings.

Because in the end, the way that others dress, have sex, etc. is their own personal choice, and it is no measurement of their worth. It also does not have any impact on their deserving of respect.

If you see a woman on the street wearing a short skirt, wave hello to her! Remember that her choices do not affect you, and that she is expressing herself and dressing her body in the way that makes her happy. She is a woman, and she deserves your respect.

If you know a woman who has premarital sex, do not gossip about her! She is sharing a human experience with people that she feels comfortable sharing it with, and she does not think that saving herself until marriage would make her happy in the same way that it makes you happy. She is a woman, and she deserves your respect.

If you see a woman talking to your boyfriend, do not call her names! Even though you know she has done nothing to impact your relationship, your jealousy is pushing you to call her hurtful things that you know are not true. She is a woman, and she deserves your respect.

So now you know all about sluts.

It sounds pretty silly now that you really think about it, right?

No one can follow the impossible rules of being a non-slut. No one. Not even nuns.

So lets embrace it!

Be a slut. Be proud. Express yourself sexually (or don’t!), wear what makes you happy, speak your mind, ask a guy on a date, make friends with men. The sky’s the limit!

And remember that the way that others choose to live their lives does not personally affect you. So there’s no need to get angry when you see a woman doing something you disagree with. Just respect that woman like you would want her to respect you.

You see? It’s all invented.

You’re a slut.

I’m a slut.

We’re all sluts.

And it’s okay.
