And my mother wonders why I’m pretty much done with Catholicism forever. Because the confirmation and post-confirmation classes I was in tried to emphasize that the church leaders were not just wise and to be looked up to, but to be defended by us when things like this happened. That WE, as Catholic youth, were supposed to become apologists not just for the faith, but for the church and its leaders, to insist that people focus on Jesus’ love and the Church’s teachings (which are often at odds with each other) INSTEAD of the epidemic assaults on our children, on God’s children, by these leaders who falsely claim to represent God’s mission on Earth. That we were to turn a blind eye and forgive them for the assaults, molestations, and rapes they destroyed innocent lives with left and right, when they were already getting away with it. I gave up a long time ago because of that. I refuse to forgive those fuckers. And I don’t care if they have holy titles to wave around. If anyone is a false teacher, a deceiver, a predator, it’s those who use religion to protect their victimizing and victim-blaming ways. And may they burn for it.
(To clarify, in case this comes up, I do still believe in God, Mary the Virgin, Jesus, and the saints. But I no longer call myself a Catholic, and am ashamed at times to even call myself a Christian.)
It has been a while since I have seen something so incredibly disgusting on tumblr, and considering some of the disgusting people I have encountered, that truly takes the cake. Why as males do some of us feel that because we pay for someones food we automatically assume they shall reciprocate sexually? This entitlement of a woman’s body is disgusting and incredibly fucked up. This is attitude is the very attitude that spurns rapists into doing the horrifying things they do. Your kindness coins will never give you automatic access to women’s bodies.
It is incredibly disgusting that anyone could ever put forth immensely insensitive expectations on another simply because you have put out material kindness, and your kindness can’t even be called that.
Kindness is doing something good for a person without the expectation of ever getting anything in return. To expect or emotionally blackmail someone with your acts of generosity isn’t generous; it is manipulative and disgusting. Women are not like classroom charts where you place your gold stars in hopes for an ice cream social at the end of the week, in this case sex being the prize. You wonder why some women legitimately hate and despise allowing men to pay for their food? Could it be because they would rather afford it themselves knowing there wont be strings attached to their meal if they do?
Sex is not gift for your ability to pay for Red Lobster, sex is a mutual agreement based upon trust and care.
Learn how to form real human relationships based on respect or get the fuck out.
Socialistscum nailed it. Emphasis mine.
The original post disturbed me to the point that I can’t even reblog it.
